Ear, nose and throat, these three are one of the most vital organs of our body. They form the major part of our five sensory organs and develop a link between us and our environment. Without them we will not be able to understand our surroundings and perform our day to day work, properly. Hence, we need to maintain them in the best condition and help then work properly, free from health problems.
EAR
Ear is the organ which is essential to a human body in many ways. The primary function of ear, as we all know, is to receive external sound waves which are being transmitted through our surrounding at a particular frequency range. Beyond and below this range, any sound wave is inaudible. Next most useful function of our ear is to maintain the body balance. Due to the orientation of the vestibular part of the ear, the brain detects the change in our body's orientation and balance our body accordingly during walking, running, climbing and various other activities.
Ear Ailments
There are various types of ailments related to ears which show up during the lifetime of many humans like:
  1. Ear Wax
  2. Balance Disorders
  3. Tinnitus
  4. Nerve Pain
  5. Earaches
NOSE
Nose is another vital sensory organ of our body. Its primary function is to breath-in and breath-out air. During this process, nose does another set of important functions. It used to filter the inhaled air from foreign particles, make the air warm, help to sense the scent of the air and help brain to understand the content of the inhaled air. As soon the brain sense any hazardous content of the air in the nose, instantly it adapts the body and commands our body parts to resist the air, by using hands and other measures.
Nose Ailments
  1. Rhinosinustis
  2. Nosebleeds
  3. Post Nasal Drip
  4. Headaches due to Sinus
Throat
This is another important part of human body. It does two important functions, namely swallowing of food and generation of sound with the help of vocal cord which help in talking. Both, nose and mouth opens at the throat region. Throat is the only part of the body which helps human to interact (vocal cord) with each other.

  2. Laryngitis


Facts about Ear, Nose and Tongue


  • There is a minute duct present in between ear and throat. It helps to balance the air pressure in ear. During any situation where there is a sudden hike in surrounding air pressure, it is suggested to hold a pencil or wood between the jaws so that the pressure developed inside the ear get balanced by the air in the mouth.
  • During respiration, air must always be inhaled through nose, than mouth to get a fresh air after it gets filtered inside the nasal chamber.
  • The surface of the tongue gets white scales only if the stomach trouble exists.
